Eco household products are becoming increasingly in demand, as we all look at ways to do our bit to help the planet. While there are plenty of options emerging onto the market, it can be hard to know which ones will get the job done.
Luckily, the Good Housekeeping Institute has been busy putting a range of more eco friendly products through their paces, from anti-bacterial cleaning sprays to bamboo toilet paper. Below, we've rounded up a selection of tried and tested eco household products to help you choose the best options for your home.
Cleaning products have come a long way in recent years, and while there is plenty more work to be done, there are a number of brands creating more eco friendly versions of their products which are a step in the right direction.
While some offer alternative ingredients to harsh chemicals (which may also appeal to those with allergies or sensitivities to some cleaning ingredients), others are packed in plastic-free packaging or have been created from recycled materials.
You can also find refillable options, and products that can be purchased in bulk or as a subscription to save money and hassle. We've also included a couple of eco household products which are made right here in the UK, to help save on air miles and support British businesses.
All of the options in our list below can be easily bought online (simply click on the product!) or can even be added to your weekly Waitrose or Ocado order. If you would like to see the full reviews and round-ups of each product type, you can have a read through our best washing up liquid, best soluble cleaning product and eco toilet roll round ups.
