Wellmania is a Netflix original comedy-drama streaming TV series from Australia. It was co-created by Brigid Delaney and Benjamin Law.
The show is based on Delaney's memoir-reportage hybrid titled Wellmania: Misadventures in the Search for Wellness.
The story revolves around Liv Healy, portrayed by Celeste Barber, a 39-year-old woman facing a significant health crisis. Liv embarks on a journey to regain her well-being, exploring various methods along the way.
With eight episodes in the first season, the series premiered on Netflix on March 29, 2023.
It was a massive hit with millions of fans so what exactly is going on with Wellmania season 2? Here's everything we know so far…
Wellmania Season 2 Release Date
So here's thing…despite being hilariously funny and loved all over the world, Netflix has yet to renew Wellmania for a second season.
Understandably, it was only released in March and barely three months have passed (at time of writing). However, a lot of the time, Netflix quickly gives the thumbs up to hot shows faster than that.
That doesn't mean that we won't get Wellmania season 2. In fact, based on viewing figures, there's a really good chance that we will see Celeste Barber back on our screens very soon.
If it does get the go ahead we'd anticipate new episodes around spring 2024.

In her hometown in Australia, Liv, (Celeste Barber) is on the verge of her dream job in New York. There's only one problem, she loses her green card and when her health looks in dire straits, the US Embassy will not issue another one.
Liv, known for her binge-drinking, cocaine-snorting habits, is suddenly faced with the challenge of undoing her years of carefree living to attain the medical clearance she needs.
Throwing herself body-first into a wellness journey, Liv is willing to try just about anything from the benign to the bizarre in an attempt to get well quick. As Liv undergoes a cleanse in her pursuit of wellness, things inevitably take unexpected turns.
So can reclaim her old life? More importantly, will she want to?
What Will Happen In Wellmania Season 2?
We left the first season of Wellmania as Liv makes it back to New York and just in time to make her debut as a judge on a new cooking show.
Despite a panic attack, she manages to get herself together but misses a call from her brother to tell her that their mother is in hospital, having been hit by a van.
So the thread is definitely there for Wellmania season 2 which could see Liv having to decide between her dream job and heading back down under to take care of her mother.
There was a significant revelation in the first season that Lorraine had stolen Liv's green card, which essentially set the storyline in motion. This could lead to a fallout between Liv and Lorraine, and the second season might delve into their relationship and how they navigate this challenge.
The ending of the first season showed that Liv still had a lot of maturing to do, which could lead to new experiences, challenges, and growth for her character.
The second season could also further explore Liv's mental health and how she handles her panic attacks while pursuing her career goals.
And then we have Issac!! Will they finally start dating or will Liv find love elsewhere in Wellmania season 2? I guess, we'll find out when Netflix finally renew it!
